The Ball

The next George Washington Ball will be on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 7pm.  We will be dancing on the wooden floors of Kaplan Parish Hall at St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, VA, with music provided by the fabulous “Hot Toddy” (Anna Rain on recorders, Melissa Running on keyboard, and Edith Coakley Stowe on violin).

The dances: Barham Down, Braes of Dornoch, Dublin Bay, Emperor of the Moon, Faithless Nancy Dawson, The Farmer’s Joy, Hole in the Wall, Jamaica, Key to the Cellar, Miss DeJersey’s Memorial, Monticello, Nonesuch, The Old Mill, The Pursuit, Red House, Sir Watkin’s Jig, Smithy Hill, Ten for the Ten Commandments, Trip to Kilburn, Wooden Shoes

Covid policy: If we are forced to cancel the ball, or you are unable to attend due to covid or other illness, full refunds will be issued.  You should not attend if you have a fever, symptoms of or recent exposure to covid-19, or other obvious signs of illness.  For the protection and peace of mind of all participants, attendees are required to show proof of full covid vaccination.  (If you have previously shown us this at our last ball or on a Tuesday night, you do not need to show it again.)  You can either email a photo of your card to our registrar, send in a copy with your registration, or show it in person at Newport House.  (We will NOT retain your personal information/images – just need to check you off on the list of attendees.)  We are at this time very strongly encouraging masking as an additional safety measure for the benefit of all, but it is not required.  We will be following state, local, and CDC guidance over coming months, and reserve the right to change these policies if necessary.  Attending this in-person dance event carries inherent risk of exposure; by attending the Ball you accept personal responsibility for this risk.
