George Washington Ball

The Ball

With heavy hearts, the Williamsburg Heritage Dancers must announce the cancellation of our 2021 George Washington Ball.  We greatly miss seeing and dancing with you all, but in these difficult times we must put safety first.  HOWEVER: please save the date of Saturday, March 5, 2022, when we plan to return with what will be our 50th anniversary ball.  We hope you will all join us to celebrate the event!

The most recent George Washington Ball was held on Saturday, March 7, 2020.  We danced on the wooden floors of Kaplan Parish Hall at St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, VA, with music provided by the fabulous “Hot Toddy” (Anna Rain on recorders, Melissa Running on keyboard, and Edith Coakley Stowe on violin).

The dances: Camberwell, De Novo, The Dusty Miller, Enfield Common, Fair and Softly, The Garter, Haymakers, Jaque Latin, Love and a Bottle, Mad Robin, Mary K, Michael and All Angels, Mount Hills, The Physical Snob, The Potter’s Wheel, The Punch Bowl, Shandy Hall, Wakefield Hunt, Well Done Jack, The Young Widow.

Dance instructions are available here.  Videos of the dances and suggested recordings can be found at this page.

Below are some video clips from past balls to feed your anticipation for the next one!
