George Washington Ball

The Ball

The 2019 George Washington Ball was held on Saturday, March 9, 2019.  We danced on the wooden floors of Kaplan Parish Hall at St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, VA, with music provided by the fabulous “Hot Toddy” (Anna Rain on recorders, Melissa Running on keyboard, and Edith Coakley Stowe on violin).  Please note that this is a different date and venue than previously.  We hope to be back on our usual weekend in 2020.

The dances: Barham Down, Cockle Shells, Dancing Across the Atlantic, Emperor of the Moon, Fandango, Honeysuckle Cottage, Indian Princess, The Introduction, Jack’s Health, Key to the Cellar, Leather Lake House, Noisette, Orange Nan, The Pursuit, The Ragg, Soldier’s Joy, St. Margaret’s Hill, Six for the Six Proud Walkers, Turning by Threes, Young Phillis of Wakefield.

A registration flier is available here.

Dance instructions are available here.  Videos of the dances and suggested recordings can be found at this page.

For dancers interested in staying together in a central hotel, we arranged a room block at the Hilton Garden Inn, a short 10-minute drive from the ball venue.  Our booking group code is WHD; please contact us for further details.
